Director
I’m Lorraine Weston and I’m the proud owner of Simply English Edinburgh, a business I started in 2016 after some time working in a variety of language schools across the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany and Argentina. I’m from a small town on the south coast of Ireland and always loved languages and travelling. After studying a BA in Applied Languages at the University of Limerick (German and Spanish) I came to Edinburgh to study a Masters in Education, fell in love with the city and have been here since! Apart from travelling, sport is my major passion in life. I’m a Waterford hurling fan (Gaelic game played in Ireland) and also support Arsenal, Real Madrid, any basketball team with LeBron James, Munster and of course the Irish rugby team! The best thing about my job is meeting fantastic people from all walks of life and sharing beautiful moments with them in this incredible city!

Office Manager
I’m Benny. I’m from Waterford in Ireland but I moved to Edinburgh in 2019. I’m a sports and fitness fanatic and I spend lots of time outdoors and in nature on my mountain bike! If I’m not outdoors then I’m probably at home supporting Manchester United and playing with my cat. Meeting new students and people is my thing and I like to learn about new cultures. I enjoy teaching in a relaxing and fun environment.

I’m a teacher of English as a foreign language at the academy Simply English in Edinburgh since September 2022. I have taught English, French and Spanish as foreign languages in Argentina, Mexico, Ireland and now Scotland. I studied a BA in Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of Limerick (French and Spanish). My first work experience teaching English as a foreign language was in Argentina in 2001. After that experience, my Erasmus in Spain (Granada) and my graduation I looked for another job in Latin America as I am fascinated with Latin America and I got a job teaching English in Mexico. I returned to Ireland after a year there as I was offered a scholarship to continue with postgraduate studies (Ph.D.). I chose to study the representation of identity, gender and sexuality in contemporary Mexican cinema, so I returned to Mexico where I studied and worked teaching languages and media studies. For several years I was between Ireland and Mexico. I love travelling, languages and learning about different cultures and I also love horse-riding, nature, animals, yoga and psychology. What I enjoy most about my job is meeting people from different countries, hearing about their cultures, beliefs, traditions and ways of looking at the world; I find that to be enriching. I love living in Edinburgh as it’s an active and friendly city with many initiatives to support its people.

Hey! I’m Emma, I’m from Essex. I teach English online for Simply English Edinburgh. Whilst studying at university in the Highlands, I found my passion for teaching. After graduating with an honours degree in Business Management , I was able to make my passion my job and joined Simply English Edinburgh. My passion is helping individuals achieve their language goals whilst making it enjoyable. Beyond the classroom, I love to travel with Greece being my go-to. I love to learn about different cultures, picking up new languages, and exploring new places. When I’m not travelling or teaching, you’ll find me reading, exploring the world around me, and gaining new experiences. My passion lies within teaching. It’s not just about achieving goals; it’s the chance to connect with incredible people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. 🌍📚🌟
