I’m Lorraine Weston and I’m the proud owner of Simply English Edinburgh, a business I started in 2016 after some time working in a variety of language schools across the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany and Argentina. I’m from a small town on the south coast of Ireland and always loved languages and travelling. After studying a BA in Applied Languages at the University of Limerick (German and Spanish) I came to Edinburgh to study a Masters in Education, fell in love with the city and have been here since! Apart from travelling, sport is my major passion in life. I’m a Waterford hurling fan (Gaelic game played in Ireland) and also support Arsenal, Real Madrid, any basketball team with LeBron James, Munster and of course the Irish rugby team! The best thing about my job is meeting fantastic people from all walks of life and sharing beautiful moments with them in this incredible city!
I’m Jack from Limerick in Ireland and I have been living in Scotland since 2017. I studied an undergraduate in Fine Art, Painting and am currently studying a Masters in Linguistics. What I like about Simply English is that it’s a relaxed and fun environment to teach in where the students and teachers interact and mingle. The students are fun and there is always something new to learn about another place. I like visiting galleries, hiking, listening to music and poetry. I became CELTA qualified in 2015 before going to Argentina and Peru to teach English.
General English Teacher
My name is Ludo, I’ve been working at Simply English since February 2018 and I can say that my favourite thing about working here is getting to know people from other nations and cultures.I am from just outside London but I love living in Edinburgh. My undergraduate degree was in Philosophy and I studied my TEFL in 2016, Since then I have worked as an English as a foreign language teacher and I love learning about the English language. In my free time, I do computer programming and I love eating cheese. One more thing: Simply English is present perfect!
I’m Michelle the Office Manger. If you are writing emails to the school it’s usually me who is answering them as quickly as I can. I am also from Ireland originally but have lived in Scotland since 2009 when I moved to Dundee to study Science. Since then I have worked all over Scotland and I am still trying to perfect the Scottish accent! Working in a language school is the best job ever! I feel so lucky to meet people from all over the world and learn about new cities. In my free time I enjoy walking my dog (and my cat sometimes) I love cooking and baking so most of my weekends are spend in the kitchen with a glass or two of wine!
